The Hurun Research Institute recently released the Hurun Global Gazelle Index 2022 Half-Year Report. Out of many biotech companies, METiS found a remarkable spot in the list.
The report listed companies founded after 2000, with high growth potential of US$1bn valuation mark within 3 years, which are most likely to ‘go unicorn’. The valuation of the listed Gazelles ranging from US$ 500mn to US$ 1 Bn. Hurun Research has been tracking Unicorns since 2017 and Gazelles since 2018. This is the second edition of the Hurun Global Gazelle Index.
Hurun Research found 621 Gazelles in the world, based in 33 countries and 151 cities. On average, they were set up in 2015, 74% of them selling software and services and only 26% selling physical products. 58% are selling to businesses, whilst 42% are consumer-facing. Gazelles were disrupting healthcare, financial services and business management solutions.
