METiS TechBio (7666.HK), a global leader in AI-powered drug delivery innovation, and Luye Pharma Group Ltd. (2186.HK) today signed a long-term strategic partnership agreement in Beijing, making METiS TechBio Luye Pharma’s first strategic partner in AI-powered drug delivery.
Centered on the development of innovative drug pipelines, the partnership will harness artificial intelligence as its driving force, advanced drug delivery technologies as its technical foundation, and commercial-scale development and manufacturing capabilities to support translation. Together, the two companies will establish a joint innovation framework spanning pipeline discovery, technology development, experimental validation, and the translation of research outcomes. The partnership aims to continuously improve the efficiency of innovative drug development and build globally competitive drug pipelines.
Under the strategic partnership agreement, the two companies will pursue in-depth collaboration in four key areas:
Jointly building an AI-driven R&D platform: METiS TechBio will leverage the core AI capabilities of its NanoForge platform—including a lipid library containing more than 10 million lipid structures, a lipid language model, the nano-delivery AI agent ALAN, and integrated dry- and wet-lab infrastructure—to provide extensive support for the collaboration. Luye Pharma will make available its world-class R&D platform for advanced formulations and commercial-scale manufacturing facilities. By integrating their respective R&D systems, the two companies will explore a new research model that combines AI-assisted design, experimental validation, data feedback, and model optimization, and jointly build an intelligent R&D platform.
Jointly addressing key technological challenges: METiS TechBio will contribute the strengths of its AI platform in molecular generation, property prediction, multiscale LNP simulation, and targeted delivery system design. Luye Pharma will contribute its specialized R&D team and more than a decade of accumulated expertise in core technologies for long-acting, sustained-release, and controlled-release formulations. Together, the two companies will conduct research on key technologies required for the development of innovative drug pipelines.
Jointly advancing the translation of research outcomes: Drawing on its proven commercial-scale development and manufacturing capabilities, underpinned by production systems that have supported product approvals in both China and the U.S., Luye Pharma will help advance AI-designed novel delivery systems into clinical development and commercial-scale manufacturing. METiS TechBio will apply its proven commercialization model of “platform deployment, asset licensing, and co-development” to accelerate value realization across innovative drug pipelines.
Jointly building an open innovation ecosystem: Leveraging their respective research platforms and industry resources, the two companies will jointly submit applications for research programs, support the training and development of high-caliber talent, and expand international and industry collaboration, further strengthening their innovation capabilities and industry influence.
